HARRISBURG – Sen. Joe Pittman (R-41) and Reps. Jim Struzzi (R-62) and Brian Smith (R-66) announced $5,079,692 in state funding has been awarded for eight projects in Indiana and Jefferson Counties. These investments from the Multimodal Transportation Fund Program and PA Small Water and Sewer Program were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) on January 20, 2026, in Harrisburg.
“Road network and water and sewer projects are an essential part of maintaining the stability of our communities, but often come with a high cost,” Pittman said. “I’m pleased to have worked with my colleagues to ensure this state support will be invested locally and can help to assist with necessary improvements. This is a great day, as these projects will improve services to numerous municipalities and residents within our region.”
“I fully support the water and road infrastructure grants awarded by the CFA board,” Struzzi said. “The projects funded include critical sanitation upgrades, pedestrian safety improvements, and road connections. Indiana County is a great place to live and work; these projects will improve the community even further.”
“These grant programs fund projects in two of the most essential facets of our communities: water access and our ability to move around,” Smith said. “Having well-maintained roads and sidewalks is especially important in our rural part of the Commonwealth, and everyone needs access to clean water. I’m glad this funding can be put to good use for these crucial projects.”
The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the Commonwealth.
